🎉 Warm wishes for a healthy, active, and productive New Year to all members of the KIC Community.

Warm wishes

As we welcome 2026, I am inspired by the work this community represents—advancing physical activity research, healthy ageing, and innovation through rigorous science and collaboration. The year ahead calls for renewed energy in our Community research efforts, stronger cross-border and cross-disciplinary dialogue, and clearer pathways from evidence to real-world and policy impact.

In this spirit, we are preparing our 1st Kinesis Innovation Center (KIC) Community Meeting & Networking, designed to bring together research, data, clinical perspectives, and policy-oriented discussion, and to create space for meaningful exchange, collaboration, and future initiatives.

Through the KIC Community Meetings, we aim to create a structured yet open space that connects physical activity and healthy ageing research with data, clinical evidence, and policy relevance. The series is designed to move beyond presentations, supporting meaningful exchange around research outputs, real-world evidence, translational pathways, and collaboration opportunities, including joint projects and grant applications.

The 1st KIC Community Meeting is planned for early February and will launch this approach. While the programme, sessions, speakers, and dates presented on the event page are indicative and subject to refinement, they reflect the structure, scope, and type of interaction we are designing for the KIC Community. This first meeting sets the foundation for an ongoing, bimonthly series shaped by community participation and priorities.

1st KIC Community Meeting & Networking From Science to Impact in Physical Activity (PA), Active Ageing & Longevity (HAL)

Why this meeting?

This meeting launches our bimonthly KIC Community series, designed as an interactive, discussion-driven space that helps bridge:

  • Science, data, clinical studies, and policy
  • Research outputs and real-world impact
  • Individual expertise and collective opportunity

Rather than passive listening, the focus is on exchange, alignment, and readiness — especially around collaboration and future initiatives.

FREE Registration is open via the GSS event platform—community members and stakeholders are invited to participate.

What to expect

  • Three trigger presentations (Theory / Strategy, Longevity, Clinical Translation) setting the common frame:
     – From Community Assets to Collective Impact: The KIC Strategy at the Science–Data–Policy–Clinical Interface
    – Longevity, Healthy Ageing and Physical Activity: From Biological Mechanisms to Real-World Prevention
    – From Research to Real-World Impact: Digital Health, Clinical Studies and Living Labs in DARE
  • Two short expert interventions on:
     – European physical activity networks and capacity building
     – Wearables, real-world data, and academia–industry collaboration
  • A highly interactive segment focused on:
    – Mapping community assets (datasets, studies, expertise)
    – Identifying gaps for competitive grant applications
    – Prioritising opportunity categories and funding schemes
    – Live networking through structured collaboration spaces and 1:1 round-robin exchanges

Why join

  • Position your research, data, and expertise within a growing European community
  • Connect across academia, industry, policy, and clinical research
  • Gain early insight into grant directions and collaboration opportunities
  • Contribute to shaping KIC as a trusted science–data–policy–clinical interface

Format

  • Total duration: 90 minutes
  • Short presentations (≈5–15 min total)
  • Moderated discussion & networking (≈30 min)

Participation is open to all stakeholders interested in evidence-based physical activity, healthy ageing, longevity, and translational impact.
